week 5
Computer class was fun. We did a lot on word. It is so amazing how much is on there that we don't use or don't even care to figure out. All we need is to push ALL the buttons and see what they do. If we don't like what happened we can always press the back button or my favorite command, control Z. Gosh that is so useful in so many things. Any who I also (sorta) learned of a very quick way to correct miss spellings. Its very useful.

Well I think that's all I have to talk about. I wasn't assigned any weird super fiction that may become true. Have a wonderful life.

OH! I know what else to talk about. I can talk about art class! It was fun I have painted a picture that I am very proud of. My art teacher talked me into putting it into a show. If someone really likes it then they may actually pay me and then I would be a professional artist! how cool! Yeah so I had a good day.

Day 7  Test day on Tuesday.

Gosh I hate tests. I don't know why. I always do my best and get good scores but I have a fear of failing. I always double check my answers when I can. Timed tests are the worst. I freak out and feel like I am about to faint. Luckily today the test wasn't timed so I could read the questions a hundred times over again to make sure I understood them. I have learned that I stink at looking stuff up in books so all the more reason to know my stuff. Today's test had 43 questions and I missed only 3 of them. That still leaves me with an A in class. When I get nervous my leg will bounce uncontrollably until I get tired. Oh well I must just take a deep breath and know that it is over and I did well. those that I missed mean barley anything and that  I can't change them now. All I can do is look forward, study hard and hope that I will ace my next test.

Today for what to write about in computer class I need to write about AI. I read this ( http://theweek.com/articles/443029/rise-machines ) which explains the possibilities and and downfalls of AI. I think we should look to fantasy books for the answers. I know that is a weird idea but the truth is there are well thought out stories of AIs and how they could ether be beneficial or chaotic. The well known game Halo for instance shows that AIs can be very helpful (in this case military) with communication between ships and to make sure everything running the way it should as well as scheduling things for us. They could also have backups keeping them from turning against humans where they are constantly thinking that as a virus. On the other hand AIs could become something like 2001 Space Odyssey where they decide that humans were not needed. I personally think that we will be able to keep AIs in check. We wouldn't let it on the internet until every little problem was solved with them. Besides an AI can only progress as much as its hardware and software would allow. This helps us still be useful to them.
In conclusion I personally don't think AIs will take over the world.

Day: 5

Today in class was learning about viruses and firewalls. I didn't know that all viruses had a secret signature to them. The firewalls search any downloaded stuff to find recorded signatures of viruses. If there is a virus that is not recorded in the Firewall it could possibly get through thus giving your computer a virus. Even though your computer may have a firewall you should still be careful what sites you go to and what you download.

Once again I am to share a strange thing that happened with the internet. In this link  ( https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/750k-lawsuit-over-yelp-review-will-go-to-trial/2014/01/26/63e9d372-8539-11e3-8099-9181471f7aaf_story.html?utm_term=.ae04f105d369 )
it explains how a few fake reviews on a business can completely ruin someone.  I personally don't understand why someone would speak lies to put a bad name on someone when the lair gets nothing back in return. ( unless they like to see people go into debt) This is a great way to show that, yes, the internet has useful information but always take it with a gain of salt. It just may be fake information.

Day 3:

Today was about Hard-drives/Soft-drives in a computer. It is very cool to learn how the thing you use every day actually works instead of just brushing it off as "The magic of technology." Sadly I know many people who don't care about how things work. That is what I find is missing in this time; we lack the craving to find out how the world moves. I personally am a geek about how things function. May it be from a simple watch to a type writer to a computer I enjoy being able to feel the different parts of a machine. I need to understand things instead of just brushing them off as something that helps me though out the day. This craving may come from me being dyslexic and/or being very creative. The more I understand stuff the more I can use to create new stuff.

One thing that I find hard in class is where things are located. I try to fallow along on where and how I should turn in a project or where I need to download X but this all may just come from lack of experience. I am still trying to get used to everything. Silly me. I try to take notes on what I need to do or what I have questions about but I'm not very good at that ether. Some how though I seem to be able to get thorough classes with an A. I just hope I will continue to have this luck.

There was some assigned reading that I found quite disturbing. There was an article about how the internet can be censored in different parts of the world. North Korea for instance does not even let their people on the internet but China has found a strange way to give their people a sense of freedom without giving it to them truly. This is done by having the searches all though out China "filtered" through other computers before reaching the one who was searching the web. You may say that this is good because porn won't pop up. That is true but once the filtering is started it won't stop. They can filter the news that is posted all over the world giving their people a false sense of reality. This is wrong. If this happened in America we would be opening our gun cabins and protesting for this to end. That is because it goes against our rights as Americans. It is our freedom to speak and the internet is just another way to share our ideas. Be proud to be able to speak freely and don't let others silence you. This is a right that all humans, no mater race, gender or where they live should be able to do.

Day 2. Spring Classes

BOOKS! The books for my classes are ether Super thick or I have three in one class. I Have to read all of them and it doesn't help that I'm not a very fast reader. Oh well, I guess I have to say fairwell to my social life. When carrying my backpack with all the books I feel like a turtle. (how do tenage mutant ninja turtles do it? I wonder if that is what inspired such an off-the-wall Idea?) Going up stairs is hard too. Its like you are training to be a fire fighter. Also my campus is on a hill so there are stairs EVERYWHERE! Thats one way to make sure you are still in shape while going to school.
Computer class is fun. Its easy to fallow along and we get to go through things step by step and actually feel how things work. This is great because I am a kenetic type of learner. (I know you are reading this!)
I'll try to keep this up to thow out thoughts for my classes. (and this is requred for my computer class. Kinda fun.)
